WHY HORSES?

I'm sure you're asking, “why horses?”  Well, primarily because horses are perfect for this kind of learning.

First and foremost - they are prey animals. Their life is black and white - if they're scared, they're gone - if they feel comfortable and safe then they are happy to just chill with you all day long.

Horses don’t judge. They don’t care if you are wearing the newest style, fanciest boots or if your shirt is a hand-me-down. They don’t even see the things that humans get hung up on.

Horses react to stimulus, meaning horses feel and react to our body language. Amazingly – horses can tell if we are saying one thing and feeling something different. To help them feel safe – our mind and our belly need to be on the same page.

Horses live in the moment – they don’t have an ego or ulterior motives. They aren’t thinking about tomorrow and don’t let the past weigh them down.

They use their body to express themselves and their feedback is immediate. They look for a strong leader, like the poster says, “lead or get out of the way”. For this creature – it is about survival.

They follow their gut; they listen to their intuition, and they react according to what they see in us. So, horses more than any other animal – teach humans to listen, to adjust, and to make positive changes.

  • “Horses change lives. They give our young people confidence and self-esteem.  They provide peace and tranquility to troubled souls; they give us hope.”      -Toni Robinson

So, if you are willing and open and listen with your heart – partnering with the horse can and will enhance your journey. Working with horses will change your life.
